It is a week since we returned home from the adventure that had been in the planning for 18 months. It is a week that has gone past in a bit of a blur, but I am beginning to feel like we’re coming back down to earth. I am still thinking about the trip a lot and parts of it seem very surreal.

Costas: Climbing In Memory Of His Son

I decided to try and climb Kilimanjaro in January 2016 in memory of my son Tom who had passed away in October 2009 at the age of 23 due to a slow moving brain tumour. After looking at various alternatives on the Internet, I decided to fund raise for Nasio Trust and Astro Brain Tumour Fund.

I am now 63, my wife 65 and her sisters 60 and 62, so I figured if we didn’t do it this year we probably never would!

Mountain Midlife Crisis

In February 2014 I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania!  It has taken me nearly two years to write about the experience. I decided in December 2013 that I would take on the challenge and I then had three months to get the gear, prove I was fit enough and raise £3,000 for the charity.  Why […]

Demi Overton shares her Kili story! “I’m climbing Kilimanjaro!” – A sentence that I never ever thought I would ever say.. Everyone thought I’d gone a little crazy, especially my family..
